Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my asphalt needs to be replaced or just repaired?

While this will depend on a variety of factors, one can usually tell by the state of the asphalt. If the cracks are small to intermediate, then proper maintenance can likely save your asphalt. However if it has started to crumble or break into pieces at the ends, it may be time to repave.

How soon can I use my driveway after it’s been seal coated?

48 hours is the industry standard before driving on your seal coated project, while 24 hours is considered generally safe. This all depends on the time of year, temperature, additives and direct sunlight exposure of your project.

How long will my new asphalt driveway last?

If our maintenance program is followed, your new driveway or lot can easily last over 20 years.

What is sealcoating, and why is it important?

Sealcoating is a protective layer applied to asphalt surfaces to extend their lifespan. The tried and true way to do this is to use refined, Grade A Coal Tar, with up to several additives depending on multiple factors. If this mixture is done correctly, it can over double the lifespan of your asphalt.

Many of our competitors have switched to using a cheaper and less effective substance to increase profits. CL Asphalt prioritizes getting the job done right, and leaving our projects and customers fully protected. We guarantee it!
